1. What steps are needed to enroll?
Stepping Stone Scholars Tutoring require that your child take a skills assessment prior to enrollment and booking. This allows us to get a full understanding of the student's strengths and weaknesses so that we can formulate an effective learning plan. After the assessment, we will conference with you to review a detailed score report, review the recommended lesson plan and create a tutoring schedule.
2. How soon can the tutoring start?
We can usually send one of our excellent tutors to your home within 2-3 days after our first phone call with you.
3. What subjects can I enroll in?
We offer tutorial services in math and reading. Our proficient tutors can teach you from the subject fundamentals to assisting with homework through our after-school support.
4. Do you require a contract?
Yes, a contract is required because it is designed to maximize the effectiveness of Stepping Stone Scholars Tutoring by highlighting the goals and expectations of both the tutor and student during provided services.
5. Do your tutors come to our home?
No, our tutors will meet in a public place of your choosing, i.e., a public library, coffee shop, or bookstore.
6. How much does tutoring cost?
Subject tutoring is $35/hr, after-school assistance is $15/day, and our Building Study habits course is $280.
7. How long is each tutoring session?
Every student is unique; so is the amount of tutoring that each student needs. The amount of time required will ultimately depend on where the student starts, where he/she wants to go, and how hard he/she is willing to work to get there. Depending on the tutoring subject, the student's age, and the time requirements need to achieve the desired results, sessions are either one or two hours.
8. Do you offer any guarantees for your services?
Since every student begins the tutoring at a different level and faces unique challenges to success, it is impossible for us to guarantee a specific grade increase for subject tutoring. 9. What are your tutor's qualifications?
While other tutoring services have "certified instructors", we use only experienced state-certified teachers who bring a variety of learning strategies to meet the specific needs of your child.
10. How can I contact a tutor?
You can register through our member login. If you have already completed the registration process, you may log on using your email address and password.
11. How can I reserve a slot for my tutorial session?
The available sessions can be viewed using your account. You can select your preferred date and time, subject title, and tutor name. A confirmation message will be sent to your email address to acknowledge your reserved time and date.
12. What is your class schedule?
We provide individualized instruction, not classes. This allows us to provide individualized programs geared to each student's specific need. It also allows you to set your own schedule.
13. Am I required to stick to a set schedule?
Because consistent attendance is an important ingredient to your child's tutoring, we encourage you to set a schedule an stick to it as much as possible. Of course, we will always accommodate schedule changes due to changing circumstances such as sports and other after-school activities.
14. If I'm not satisfied with my child's tutor can I get a refund on the services?
We understand that sometimes a great tutor and a great student are not great together; successful tutoring requires chemistry and synergy. Thus, if after the first hour of tutoring and before the second hour of tutoring you feel that your tutor is not a good match for your child, we will refund the cost for the first hour of tutoring and immediately assign you a new tutor or refund all of your money. If you decide to stop the tutoring at any point after the second hour of tutoring, we will refund your unused credit as long as you request a refund within 10 days after your last tutoring session.
15. Can I cancel my membership any time? Will I get a refund?
As per our policy, we can only give refunds for the unused time slots after the 15th day of the month. Cancellation of your membership will take effect after seven (7) working days.
